What is a life coach?

Coaching, is a teaching, training or development process via which an individual is supported while achieving a specific personal or professional result or goal. The individual receiving coaching may be referred to as the client or coachee. The structures, models and methodologies of coaching are numerous, and may be designed to facilitate thinking or learning new behavior for personal growth or professional advancement.

What is the purpose of parent coaching for school meetings?

You are your child's best advocate!! But you may not be as effective as you could be if you are not asking the right questions or you are not prepared for the school's typical response to parent questions. Coaching builds on the core strengths that you as an individual already possess. We work together to refine the plan and deliver you from resistance to action.

What population do you serve?

Adina works with both children and adults. Her specialty is helping parents and children adjust and cope with challenges associated with living with family members having varying degrees of special needs and differing abilities. Adina also has extensive experience providing practical parenting solutions and co-parenting strategies. Parents and children often need extra support and resources, both of which Adina is well equipped and happy to provide.

Is coaching covered by insurance?

At this time, we are not in network with any insurance providers, but we are happy to provide receipts and other necessary documentation upon request.

What training and certifications does Adina hold?

Adina holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology. She holds credentials as a Certified Life Coach from the Coach Training Alliance, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. Adina has also been trained as a facilitator and has successfully mediated situations between school districts and parents, and parents who may be going through divorce or have differing parenting approaches that are adversely affecting their home life.

As a well-versed non-attorney advocate, Adina has facilitated literally thousands of IEP and 504 meetings, disciplinary hearings, mediations, and due process hearings. She is very well versed in school law and collaborative problem solving. Adina is both a credentialed mediator and a Family Law Mediator. Adina is also a trained Parent Coordinator specializing in high conflict divorce. She frequently conducts mediations for special needs families needing a divorce or modification to divorce orders. Further, Adina has served as a national educational consultant for a parenting program and trained hundreds using practical parenting and researched based intervention strategies. She has been recognized by the Collin County Association of Young Children for her role as a child and family advocate and is also a member of the elite Texas Trainer Registry and the Council of Parent, Advocate, and Attorneys (COPAA). Adina is also a frequent family systems presenter for Dispute Resolution Services.
